Dr. Wei Liu, graduated from Norman Bethune University of Medical Science. He has been mentored by Professor Qiwen Zhou and Professor Lizhong Sun, the famous cardiovascular surgeons in China, and worked in Cardiac Surgery of Anzhen Hospital in Beijing for nearly 20 years. He joined DeltaHealth Hospital in 2016 as the Chief of Cardiac Surgery and Director of Medical Affairs. He has went to Hospital affiliated to University of Pennsylvania and Hospital affiliated to Saarland University and New Your Presbyterian Hospital affiliated to Columbia University for exchange.

He has more than 20 years of experience in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac surgery diseases, serving as the chief surgeon on more than 5000 cardiac surgeries, 3000+ of which were highly difficult and complex great vessel surgeries. He is a mature surgeon of thoracic and abdominal aortic replacement (TAAR) and minimally invasive aortic surgeries, and helped more than 100 hospitals build their capacity in great vessel diseases. He has great passion in charity initiatives, saved many charity patients with Marfan syndrome, which won him a Special Contribution Award from Marfan Heart Health Foundation under the Overseas Chinese Charity Foundation and was appointed as ‘Guest Expert of Marfan Rescue Association’. He has won great reputation among cardiovascular patients in China. He has published multiple SCI papers and participated in the editing and drafting of Aortic Surgery.

He is proficient in various types of cardiovascular surgery such as surgical treatment of congenital heart disease, valvular disease, coronary disease, great vessel disease, etc. He is especially skilled in aortic dissection, Davids procedure, minimally invasive Bentalls surgery, thoracic and abdominal aortic replacement, postoperative aortic graft infection, and reoperation and multiple complex cardiovascular surgeries.

He is a member of the Committee of Cardiovascular Surgery Physicians Branch of Chinese Medical Association，a member of Hybrid Intervention Group of Interventional Expert Committee of Chinese Radiological Society, a member of Shanghai Physicians Association Cardiovascular Surgery Physicians Branch, a member of Cardiovascular Surgery Committee of China Association of Non-public Medical Institution, as well as Vice Chairman of the Committee of Cardiac Surgery under China Medical Education Association. In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal“Contemporary Medicine”，a member of the Medical Affairs Group of the Medical Quality Management Committee of Shanghai Hospital Association, a member of the Second Hospital Management Branch of Shanghai Association of Social Medical Institutions, member of Cardiovascular Imaging Expert Committee of Chinese Research Hospital Association, American Alumni Association (China Overseas Student Association). He participated in the editing and drafting of Aortic Surgery，won the Pioneering Youth Award of the 4th Chinese Great Doctor (Organizer: Peoples Daily).
